COMMISSIONS
MY FAVORITE WAY OF WORKING!
I love connecting with my clients to create works showcasing the things in life that make them smile.
A commissioned work of art is special! The subject of the painting always comes with your personal story and that offers me an extra inspirational boost.
Commissioned paintings are eye-catching conversation starters in homes or businesses. Whether I am painting a still life of your special object, or a representation of your memory filled place, you will have a unique artwork that depicts your personal history!
POP ART STILL LIFE PAINTINGS
I love telling people’s stories by painting their favorite objects!
Commissioned still life paintings can be done from a series of photographs, or they can be done from the real life objects. I paint all types of food and drink, as well as personal memorabilia like gaming controllers and tennis shoes.
These pop art paintings are a smile inducing way to capture a bit of your personal history. They are conversation starters in homes and offices, and are distinctive touches in corporate settings - especially when presented in groups.
REALISTIC LOCATION PAINTINGS
There is something magnetic about places we have strong attachments to.
Commissioning a custom painting of a home or building, or a swath of land with special meaning, is a tribute to your personal or business history. I have painted landmark buildings and private homes, as well as intimate and grand outdoor vistas.
These artworks can be done on location, plein air style, or from a series of photographs provided by the client. Location based paintings are artworks that will endure for generations.
COMMISSION PROCESS
Commissioning a painting is a simple and enjoyable process. We will talk about what you want and make decisions about materials and dimensions.
Sizes range from 8” x 10” to 36” x 48”. Larger works, groups of paintings, and murals are also options.
Depending on the size and subject of your commission, paint may be acrylic, gouache or oil paint. All paintings are on canvas.
After we have agreed on the subject and design details of your piece we will sign a contract. Pricing is based on size and complexity. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for work to begin.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Your painting will be finished with a protective layer of archival varnish.
Commissioned paintings can be unframed or framed. Framing is done with professional quality 1/2” black wood float frames.
It will take 4-8 weeks after we sign a contract for me to complete a smaller painting. Larger paintings take 8-12 weeks. The completion time varies depending on the type of paint and the complexity of the image.
Your ready-to-hang painting may be picked up during a studio visit, or you may arrange to have it shipped to you.
